The Woodmont Library opened on March 13, 2000 and is the second King County Library System (KCLS) branch library in Des Moines. It is one of the newer libraries that make up the KCLS. The library is for public use and provides general information services and programs. It has a Reading and Community Room that is available for general use. The Woodmont Library building was designed by Bassetti Architects and was funded from the Library District bond issue for new construction, and from capital funds. The 5,250 square foot structure was designed with brick walls that act as a barrier to the noise and activity from Pacific Highway South.
