NEWSPAPER DIGITIZATION PROJECT New
Decades of Des Moines' history is locked away in printed copies of the Des Moines News. They are not indexed and must be manually searched. In addition they are slowly deteriorating over time. Having the newspapers scanned, digitized, and placed on-line will make them searchable and available to everyone. However, the cost is high, about $1 per page. Try it out at Small Town Papers. We need your contributions to help fund this project. You can contribute using Zelle® with the email address treasurer@dmhs.org. Paper checks may be sent to the Des Moines Historical Society at PO Box 98055, Des Moines, WA 98198-0055. All contributions will help.
